We are seeking the services of a Technical Sales Support Individual for Vibrating Spares & Equipment to join our Technical Sales Support Team.
The Primary activities will include interacting with Sales Account Owners and End users, to elevate the Metso Screening brand and capabilities, towards both Greenfield and Brown field projects, as well as developing a full understanding of future projects, and the timing of these. This to develop and grow the Metso Screening Equipment and Spares business in Market Area Africa.
Under the Technical Sales Support portfolio, we will require technical competence as well as a drive to assist in problem solving. This role is a pivotal in terms of aligning the Global Product Line specialists with the Market Area (MA) and customer needs.
Essentially, the Technical Sales Support role works with the Market area Sales team to effectively deliver a seamless experience, that delivers a “technical solution” that meets the customer’s needs, thus supporting the sales team to enhance and build customer relationships with the downstream effecting sales realisation. The Engineer must ensure timely submission of vibrating spares and equipment proposals to end customers, as well as handover to both Projects- and sales team when orders is received.
In this position, you will report to the Technical Sales Support Manager – Screening.
This position is mainly located in Germiston, Gauteng.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO
You will join the Technical Sales Support Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Management, Other Engineers, Clients, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors and Site Staff.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support the Commercial Services department in developing and maintaining reporting tools
- Building relationships with customer and elevating the Metso screening equipment brand and offerings
- Develop full understanding of upcoming projects and opportunities with longer term planning of business potential
- Technically support the Commercial and/or QOM teams as per RFQ’s and within deadlines provided
- Application and process support
- Support MIN capital team with Screening related proposals for projects and package deals
- Market analyses regarding competitor activity, market and pricing trends, etc…
- Work with MA Sales / Technical sales Support teams to develop an area Sales plan and
- Maintaining Salesforce opportunity listing
- Work with SCB Global Product support and proposal teams, to prepare and submit
- Commercial Proposals / quotations
- Efficient handover of orders received to Project execution teams, ensuring full alignment with project requirements and timelines
- Regularly travel with MA sales resources to present proposals to support selling efforts
- Travel within MA Africa area, as well as international travel
- Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time
WHO YOU ARE
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering or Metallurgy or similar
- Minimum 5 plus years field experience of applications in minerals processing including vibrating- and process equipment
- Minimum 3 years of Technical and Commercial Proposal preparation environment
- Capital project proposal requirements, and interaction with Project houses will be beneficial
- Must have up to date understanding & knowledge as a technical product specialist on vibrating spares and equipment
- Understanding and experience of sales and financials and familiar with the core processes of the sales process
- Experience in complex relationships with end users

- Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast- paced environment
- Strong communication, co-operation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces
- Ability to travel regularly
