We are seeking the services of a Technical Sales Support – Mill Lining Solutions Individualto join our Technical Sales Support Team.
This position assures a high competence to give specialist Technical Sales Support within Metso and towards end users, on Mill Lining Solutions.
Primary activities will include Technical Sales Support of Mill Lining solutions, technical/field support, application and process support, warranty support, and price support.
The successful candidate will participate with and assist the Market Area sales team to develop a jointly owned market area sales strategy and action plan for the related products for the specific market area. This to be maintained through Sales Force Customer Relationship Management platform and opportunity management with opportunity owners.
The Technical Sales Support must also plan and execute installation supervision and lining inspections.
In this position, you will report to the Head of Mill Lining - TSS.
This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.
TEAM YOU WILL BELONG TO
You will join the Technical Sales Support Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Management, Customer Sales, Internal Market Area colleagues – Market Area Sales Team, Quote & Order Management Team, Logistics Team, Mill Lining Order Management, Clients and Mill Lining Product Support Team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Technical and engineering support, mill lining services
- Application and process support
- Warranty support and problem solving
- Installation and Inspection support on site
- Assist Mill Production Support with Product selection and product configuration support for the specific application
- Market analyses regarding competitor activity, market and pricing trends, etc.
- Enhance sales team knowledge of the related products via regular product updates, technical support and competency development by providing internal product training programs
- Execute and review the result of the Market Area and Product Line strategy agenda
- Work with the Market Area sales teams to develop new business opportunities on the related products
- Work with Market Area sales teams to develop area Sales plan and maintain Sales Force Opportunity listings
- Work with Mill Lining Product Support team, to prepare and submit Commercial Proposals / Quotations
- Regularly travel with Market Area sales resources to present technical proposals to support selling efforts
- Plan end customer visits aligned with the Market Area sales team
- Extensive travel within designated area, as well as international travel
- Interact with Market Area Sales team and be aligned with their processes
- Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time
WHO YOU ARE
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering or Metallurgy, or similar
- Minimum 5 plus years field experience with the related products
- Very high demand on technical product specialist knowledge
- High demand on process and application knowledge
- Experience in complex matrix relationships
- High understanding of and experience of support role
- Familiarity with the broad range of Metso Grinding Equipment
- A general understanding of core processes of the Metso customer base

- Ability to travel regularly
