Introduction
We are seeking an Installed Base Engineer to join our Services Product Data Management team! In this role, you will be responsible for the quality and consistency of the installed base information and related product data created into Metso’s information systems. We are looking for someone who can formulate abstract needs into clear requirements and find solutions to improve the customer experience and internal efficiency.
In this position, you will report to Director, Data and Installed Base, located in the United States.
This position is located in Espoo, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. This position requires a maximum of 10% of business travel.

You will join a team of dedicated professionals who work closely with different stakeholders such as Product Data Managers, Installed Base Managers and Global Logistics Operations to ensure smooth data flow. Our team culture is all about getting things done together. The members in our team are located in Finland, Australia, and in the United States.
What you’ll do
- Work in cooperation with tasks from the Installed Base Manager and Product Data Manager.
- Create and maintain core functional location structures based on information gathered and provided by Market Areas and Capex and Services Business Lines
- Validate and maintain installed base information content together with Market Areas and Capex and Services Business Lines and supports utilization of this data in relevant business processes
- Maintain installed base information in operative data maintenance requests coming through Installed Base portal or other sources
- Connect legacy and other spare part items in PDM to equipment information as requested and guided
- Support creation of installed base structure and build connections to support Delivery to Service handover
- Provide support and extract reports related to installed base information as required
- Support development projects for Installed Base and selected Product Data improvement initiatives
- Act as a Key User for Installed Base data maintenance processes
Who you are
- Minimum 2 years of Trainee or Specialist level experience working in an operative role maintaining Installed Base data
- (Preferred) Master’s degree with focus on data management, data science or related field
- Experience defining requirements for application development (ITDD) and capability to support this process
- Understanding and demonstrating of applying data models to be mastered in a single system, but shared to many
- Understand the impact poor quality or missing data can have on customer satisfaction and business profitability
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Previous experience working with Metso Installed Base data is considered an asset
- Previous experience working with product lifecycle management and related systems (PDM/EDM) is considered an asset
