<div>WinnCompanies is looking for a
Human Resources Compliance Specialist to join our corporate team located in
Boston, MA.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Human Resources team to provide support on HR initiatives and projects. You will ensure compliance with all existing and upcoming federal, state, and local rules and regulations in areas of wage & hour, paid family/sick leave, hiring processes, employment policies and practices, and record retention.
This position adheres to a Monday through Friday work week from 8:30AM to 5:00PM. You'll benefit from a blend of collaboration in our Boston headquarters four days per week (Monday through Thursday) and flexibility of one remote day per week (Friday).
Responsibilities
- Work closely with leaders in all disciplines of Human Resources to provide project management and administrative support on identified compliance related projects, assist in identifying associated risks, update corresponding workplace policies, and develop internal controls and policies.
- Partner with Employee Relations to develop, review, and update policies and procedures to reflect changes in laws and regulations and ensure organizational consistency and legal compliance.
- Proactively research new employment laws and regulations. Work with HR leaders to review impact on organization and assist in developing new processes.
- Support the audits of identified HR practices, records, and processes. Provide compliance status reporting, analysis and recommendations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, including audit results.
- Assist with the monitoring of various employment processes, including, but not limited to, background checks, arbitration agreement and handbook acknowledgements, I-9 verifications, and other legally required processes.
- Communicate, support, and train on best practices and changes to employment related policies, processes, and procedures.
- Act as back up for Employee Relations as needed.
- Assist with special projects/assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Associate's degree, preferably in human resources or another related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant human resources or compliance experience.
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws and human resource practices.
- Experience with auditing, filing, reconciling, and monitoring records for errors.
- Strong experience with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with business and human resources stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, priorities, and projects.
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Superb attention to detail, a high level of accountability, and an ability to work autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources or another related field.
- PHR or equivalent certification.
- Project management skills.
